USA - Kenco, a prominent third-party logistics (3PL) provider, has announced a significant collaboration with Sauder Woodworking Co., a major player in the ready-to-assemble furniture industry (RTA).

Sauder will be relocating its Western eCommerce distribution center operations from Jurupa Valley, California, to Kenco's facility in Ogden, Utah, signaling the initiation of a new partnership between the two entities. This relocation is poised to offer Sauder enhanced shipping flexibility and operational cost efficiencies.

In response to the growing demand for expedited shipping services, Sauder sought a partner capable of extending its reach in this domain. By shifting its operations to Ogden, Utah, Sauder aims to expand its two-day delivery coverage to 6% more of its U.S. customers compared to its previous location in Jurupa Valley. Furthermore, by leveraging Kenco's established distribution facilities, Sauder aims to optimize its operations, reduce real estate and labor expenses, and enhance its capacity to manage peak shipping volumes.

Matthew Peterson, EVP of Supply Chain at Sauder, underscored the importance of prioritizing customer convenience and operational efficiency in Sauder's logistics strategy. He expressed confidence in Kenco's Utah facility as an ideal solution to achieve these objectives, enabling Sauder to focus on its core operations while concurrently driving down costs and accelerating product delivery to a wider customer base.

David Caines, Chief Operating Officer at Kenco, emphasized the significance of tailored strategies in fueling eCommerce growth. He praised Sauder's decision to collaborate with Kenco's Ogden, Utah facility, positioning it as the central distribution hub for ready-to-assemble furniture across the Western U.S.
