COLOMBIA - Ecuadorian and Brazilian exports of particleboard / MDP in the first two months of 2019 had Colombia as its main market. This performance demonstrates the importance of the panel transformation industry in Colombia.

In the first two months of 2019 Ecuadorian exports of particleboard / MDP to Colombia reached USD 11.35 million, which represented a growth of 13.9% compared to the same period of 2018 (USD 9.96 million).

In total, Ecuador exported particleboard / MDP for USD 20.48 million in the first two months of 2019, more than half of it to Colombia.

Meanwhile Brazilian exports of particleboard / MDP to Colombia showed a steep growth (+293.3%), going from USD 915 thousand in the first two months of 2018 to USD 3.59 million in the same period of 2019. Total Brazilian exports of particleboard / MDP in the first two months of 2019 reached USD 15.01 million.

Peru was the second market in importance for Ecuadorian and Brazilian particleboard. Ecuadorian exports to the Peruvian market in the first two months of 2019 reached USD 7.7 million compared to USD 5.49 million in the same period of 2018, which represented an important growth of 40.1%.

Likewise, Brazilian exports of particleboard / MDP to Peru grew above 40%, going from USD 1.54 million in the first two months of 2018 to USD 2.22 million in the same period of 2018.
