CMPC to buy Powell Valley Millwork

CHILE - Empresas CMPC S.A. (“CMPC”), agreed to a contract for the purchase of the company Powell Valley, in the state of Kentucky, United States of America.

1036CMPCPowell Valley is a North American company dedicated to the development, production, and commercialization of interior trims and other specialized wood products and has two production facilities, located in Clay City and in Jeffersonville, both in the state of Kentucky.

The agreed price for the company is USD 40 million, which will be paid on the closing date of the Transaction and is to the usual price adjustments in this type of operation. It is estimated that the acquisition will impact positively CMPC’s results.

“This is a fundamental step in the history of CMPC,” said Luis Felipe Gazitúa, Chairman of the board at CMPC. “Although our products have been marketed in the United States for decades, we will now be able to produce them here, drawing on the experience and know-how of a specialist company like Powell Valley Millwork.”
