ECUADOR - The value of Ecuadorian imports of decorative papers for wood panel surfaces reached USD 23.56 million in the first nine months of 2023 (9M-2023).

This represented a sharp drop of 40.7% compared to the same period last year (9M-2022: USD 39.77 million).

Novopan del Ecuador, one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of MDP particleboard in Latin America, was the main importer of decorative papers in 9M-2023 with USD 20.47 million, a decrease of 44.3% compared to 9M-2022 (USD 36.78 million).

Schattdecor and Impress were the main suppliers in 9M-2023 with USD 6.09 million and USD 6.03 million, which represented sharp decreases of 48.7% and 62.2% respectively.

Spain (USD 7.81 million), Austria (USD 6.02 million) and Brazil (USD 5.02 million) were the three main suppliers of decorative papers to the Ecuadorian market in 9M-2023.
