The Home Depot expands in Mexico

MEXICO CITY - After celebrating 20 years in Mexico last year, The Home Depot will continue to expand its business in Mexico in 2022 by announcing that it will increase its investments in the country by 8.7% compared to the previous year.

977MEXICOThe company plans to invest MXN 3.62 billion (USD 182 million) to open more stores and expand its logistics network for its e-commerce business.

The MXN 3,620 million in investments in 2022 will be used, among other things, for the opening of 4 stores, as part of the company's plan to reach 150 units in Mexico in 2026 (129 currently). It will also be used to strengthen the in-store experience by implementing specific actions to improve the shopping process.

The Home Depot has reported that the growth of the digital channel has been significant, registering 230 million visits per year, equivalent to 4 times more than visits to its physical stores, so in 2022 it will focus on improving the online experience, to achieve more efficient navigation, search, payment and delivery processes.

Likewise, new improvements and expansions will be made to the Multichannel Distribution Centers.
