GERMANY - The Altendorf Group has been awarded the “Innovator of the Year 2022” by the Die Deutsche Wirtschaft (DDW), also known as the German Business Association for its Hand Guard solution.

“The award underlines our innovative strength and confirms our claim to create an industry-wide safety standard for sliding table saws with our Hand Guard system,” said Vit Kafka, CSO of the Altendorf Group.

Over the years it has been studied that in Germany alone, an average of 120 accidents per month occurs in connection with sliding table saws per month. This being Altendorf  has developed a safety system that ensures hands are not exposed to danger when operating a sliding table saw. The result is called Hand Guard.

“We started this development three years ago and are pioneers here when it comes to recognising a hazardous situation early enough. AI, or artificial intelligence, helps us to do this,” said Peter Schwenk, CEO of the Altendorf Group. The Hand Guard optical system is the world’s first and only certified safety assistance system for sliding table saws.

The Altendorf Group manufactures Altendorf sliding table saws and Hebrock edgebanding machines.
