ITALY - SCM Group has unveiled plans for the opening of a new subsidiary in Bengaluru, India, coinciding with its participation at IndiaWood from February 22 to 26, 2024.
According to SCM’s press release, the Bengaluru subsidiary is expected to commence operations around April or May 2024, under the leadership of the newly appointed Country Manager, Kunal Roy.
Roy emphasized SCM’s strategic investments aimed at providing comprehensive assistance to woodworking businesses not only in India but also throughout the wider region, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and the Maldives. He highlighted SCM’s ongoing expansion of Sales & Service infrastructure in India, citing prestigious projects completed in 2023 across various regions such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Delhi. SCM aims to ensure highly specialized, fast, and reliable service support for customers across the region by continuously expanding its service team.
The Bengaluru subsidiary's team will be present at IndiaWood 2024, showcasing several solutions tailored to Indian consumers. Among the featured technologies will be the morbidelli p200 CNC machining centre, renowned for its optimal price-performance ratio and high-quality edgebanding capabilities, equipped with SCM’s latest Maestro edge software. The stefani kd edgebander will also be on display, offering versatility and efficiency in processing solid wood strips, while the dmc sd70 wide belt sander will demonstrate its effectiveness in various types of machining tasks.
Additionally, IndiaWood attendees can explore SCM’s other cutting-edge technologies for windows and doors manufacturing, as well as joinery machines. SCM’s expansion into Bengaluru underscores its commitment to strengthening its presence in the Indian woodworking industry and serving as a comprehensive business partner for industrial and artisan companies alike.
